RESTOCKS
Sold out isn't always the end.
Cancelled orders and failed payments put stock back days after a sellout, when nobody's refreshing the page anymore. encore still is.
FOR COLLECTOR AND FAN DISCORD SERVERS
encore watches Shopify stores and pings your server when records and merch come back in stock, show up for the first time, or drop in price. Each ping comes with a link that puts it in the cart.
Example alert. The product and store are made up.
Watch one product, or a whole store for anything new.
RESTOCKS
Cancelled orders and failed payments put stock back days after a sellout, when nobody's refreshing the page anymore. encore still is.
NEW MERCH
Watch a whole store, like your favorite band's, for words like “vinyl”. New matches come in one ping, even if 30 things go up at once.
PRICE DROPS
Set the most you'd pay when you add a product. While it's above that, nobody gets pinged. When the price comes down to it, they do.
TODAY
You do not have permission to send messages in this channel.
Restocks don't wait for a good time. Every part of an alert is there to get your members from the ping to checkout quickly.
Checked around the clock
encore keeps checking every product you watch, day and night.
Only the one you want
Watch a specific size, color or pressing. A restock of a different one doesn't ping anybody.
Preorders are labeled
Some stores list preorders as in stock. When a store isn't tracking stock for something, the alert says so.
Two ways to the cart
On a computer, Add to cart puts it straight in your cart. On a phone with Shopify's Shop app, the phone link opens there, where your card is usually saved, not in Discord's browser.
You and your mods pick what to watch. Members pick what they hear about.
Add encore to your server
It sets up a RESTOCK ALERTS category with a status channel, where it tells you if anything's wrong.
Watch something
Paste a product link into /watch, or a store and a few keywords into /watchstore. Pick sizes and the most you'd pay.
Members choose their pings
Each store gets one channel. Members press its pinned button and tick the products they want to hear about.
A RESTOCK ALERTS category with #restock-status, where encore posts its own health updates. A read-only channel for each store you watch, so members can read and react but alerts don't get buried. A role for each product, which members pick from the channel's pinned message.
Discord also gives every bot its own role. Keep encore's role above its product roles so it can hand them out.
View Channels, Send Messages
To post alerts in its own channels.
Manage Channels, Manage Roles
To create the channels and roles above. It only edits the ones it made.
Pin Messages
To keep each channel's pick-your-pings message at the top.
Mention @everyone, @here, and All Roles
To ping a product's role without making that role pingable by everyone. Each alert is locked to that one role, so it can't ping @everyone.
Anyone with Manage Server, plus a manager role you choose. Everyone else can only pick what they get pinged for.
Kick encore from your server. Everything it made is in the RESTOCK ALERTS category and its roles, so it's a couple of minutes to delete by hand.
A lot of artist, band and label webstores run on Shopify. Paste a link and find out.
Shopify stores only. It can't watch Amazon, Target, Walmart or Bandcamp.
records.example.com runs on Shopify. encore can watch it.
Example result
Most free monitors tell you a page changed. encore reads the store's product data, so it knows what actually came back.
| What it does | Page monitor | encore |
|---|---|---|
| Knows which size or color came back | Usually not | Yes |
| Labels preorders | Usually not | Yes |
| Gives you a cart link | Usually not | Yes |
| Tells you when a store starts limiting it | Usually not | Yes |
Yes, the same as everyone else. encore pings everyone who opted in at the same moment, and it never buys anything or holds stock. It can't stop someone from buying more than their share. Store purchase limits do that.
Not reliably. Drops that sell out in seconds go to people with checkout bots, and encore isn't one. It's best at what people miss: quiet restocks, cancellations, new listings and price drops.
WHY IT EXISTS
“I built the first version so I could buy a Mac Miller record at retail instead of paying a scalper.”
